The 3rd Monthly Variety Show has been scheduled for Sunday, March 22nd at 2:00 pm @ The Grass Valley Center for the Arts. This month’s show features Mountain Laurel (Bluegrass), The Norm & Tubby Quartet (Gypsy Jazz), Larry Ilg (Cowboy Poet), and your hosts Ragged But Right. This is a great line-up, with a nice variety of acts.
Mountain Laurel has been a popular local band for some time, and for good reason. They are great! In fact, they will be performing at this years Father’s Day Bluegrass festival on the big stage. So come on out and get a preview.
If you are not familiar with “Gypsy Jazz” that the The Norm & Tubby Quartet play, you should be! Harkening back to the great Django Reinhart and the Parisian Swing of the 20′s, this is a very lively, swinging style of guitar music that is very virtuosic. That means these folks can PLAY!
A life of cowboying is woven into Larry Ilg’s poetry. Old cowboy masters, contemporary poets, and some of Larry’s original poems are part of the show when he takes the stage.
Come on down, bring the family, and have a great afternoon of entertainment.
Doors open at 1:30, show starts at 2:00. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the show, or in advance at Briar Patch Co-op and through the “Ticket” link on the right.
